I was reading through the comments of those of you who are just starting Medifast. LynnAnn in particular, you've have made an excellent choice.
I had a major fall 5 years ago and the pain and pressure on my spine kept me from exercising. I had to lose the weight or be disabled. I tried EVERYTHING, including those recommended by my naturopathic doctor, with little to no success. Then, a physician friend of mine told me about Medifast.
I lost seven pounds the first week, 3 the 2nd and 4 pounds every week thereafter. I kept it off for 31/2 years and then went back on for 2 more weeks and lost another 11 pounds for a total weight loss of 42 pounds combined! It is now 5 years and I continue to do several of those shakes a day plus 3 or 4 meals and now I lift weights.
So, keep doing what you learned during the weight loss periods of eating 6 small meals a day and keep active. It's a great program and I am living proof that it works for the long term if you keep eating small healthy meals and stay active.
Thanks to Medifast I am still able to work and now lift weights in my 60's!!! And, am a size 6 which I haven't been since I was a teenager.

I have tried so many diets and exercised like a dog! I even hired a personal training and for 6 months did everything they told me. They gave me menus and I followed them religiously. I did strength training 4 days a week and cardio 6 days a week. I barely lost ANY weight after ALL THAT! You can imagine how devastated I was after spending thousands in personal trainer hours and greuling workouts.
I heard about medifast from a friend of a friend. She lost 100 pounds in 6 months! So I tried it. The first two weeks I felt like HELL but the results were mindblowing. I dropped the weight so fast! I lost 25 pounds the first month!
After that I continued to lose at least 15-20 pounds a month. Medifast is hard to stick to but after 2 weeks you and your body adjust. If you want your body back and want to see results fast then I highly recommend medifast!

I've been on the Medifast Diet for over 5 weeks and I have lost 19.5 pounds. It's far easier than any diet I've ever tried, and I'm learning far more about healthy eating than I thought possible. According to the BMI index, I'm considered obese and my health issues (feet/back) forced me to take action to reduce the strain on my body. I chose Medifast because of it's popularity and because I had never tried a meal replacement diet before. Although I'm still in the weight loss stage, I have no doubts whatsoever that I will be successful in transitioning to their maintenance plan.
